Wonderful to see and hear you, Alison! You are a serious woman warrior. Thanks, Walter, for taping and posting this. Sending good thoughts and love from SC, Cassie.
Well girlfriend, look at you! I'm happy to see that I wasn't wrong about you being up & on the computer a couple days out. Three cheers to you, your family & your awesome surgical team. --and to the nurses who got you cleaned up so nicely. We'll compare head dents at NWSA next year :-)
It's so amazing to see and hear you, Alison! We've been thinking about you lots. How incredible that Walter is posting updates... I've never met you, Walter, but thank you! -- Heather
now i really can't wait to do the hair consult at NWSA in june. Maybe it's time for something more punk, given the shaving. Eli...Eli...Punkeeeyy. god, i'm glad you're ok. super duper updates walter.
Ok, this is friggin' awesome. Not to make light of the situation, but that big scar stitch thing is very cool... Enhances that street cred, y'know? Keep a picture of it with you and pull it out whenever you need some extra fierceness!
So glad to see you, Al, and to hear you, Biffle!! Makes my day.
The eye does look impressive, even if not officially black or blue. I'm so glad to see you looking and sounding so well, Alison! And, I continue to be grateful to Walter for taking the time to update us all on how you (and he) are doing.
Alison, you are so going to win the coolest scar contest. Very glad to see you in a healing state. Thinking of you and the Biffle-Piepmeier clan. Jennifer Hackett
so thankful for your updates, walter, and absolutely ecstatic to see alison doing so well.
let it be known that alison's adoring fans in the wgs program are working diligently the most giganto get-well card EVER this week, and are sending beaucoups positivity to you, alison, and maybelle all the while.
Alison Piepmeier was a professor in the Women's and Gender Studies Program at the College of Charleston, and much, much more. When she wasn't working to bring down the patriarchy, she wrote here and elsewhere about feminist disability studies, Zines, her ugly car, and an eclectic range of topics. She also wrote about the brain tumor that eventually caused her death on August 12, 2016, at the age of 43.

That brain of Alison's is just amazing. She looks great (even w/ the swollen eye and shaved scalp).
I decided that all that compensation around the tumor is what has made her brilliant.
Tumor - no big deal . . . plenty of more neuropathways!
