Jack's Cosmic Dogs

At some point I'd like to post a list of our favorite places to go in Charleston--something we can refer to when guests come to town. I'm not going to do that now, but I am going to offer one little glimpse at a fun place we've just discovered: Jack's Cosmic Dog. Retro hot-doggy fun, with blue cheese slaw and sweet potato mustard on the dogs, root beer on tap, and a Galaga machine. And, as if you needed another reason to love this place, Jack himself is pro-choice--he donates food to Planned Parenthood fundraisers. That's how I found out about him.

Adam and Eliza are in town this weekend, and we may end up taking them for a cosmic dog.

Go waaaaay out Johnnie Dodds Blvd in Mt. P, past Town Center, and once you think you're totally in the country, it'll be on your right.

Yea Alison

I found a quote concerning people who leave anonymous comments...

"A truly anonymous quote has very little value. If it is not worthy of identification, then there is no accountability and therefore little believability. The person doing it is either afraid or ashamed of what they are saying. With the reponsibility of free speech comes the need for transparency."

Boy, now I have to go sit in my blue chair, again...

What is Galaga?? A Charleston specialty, or a SC specialty?

Whoa, that's a good one, Dad. Where did you find that? Is this blog inspiring you to become thoughtful?

Galaga. Sheesh.

Nothing beats MS.PAC-MAN.

I have the top score at the machine at the Taco Mac in Marietta, GA.

Just so you know :)

Meghann Stubel, doesn't it worry you that any day at the Taco Mac they could unplug the Ms. Pac Man machine and your score would be lost forever? I would lose sleep over this.

The Mom, Galaga is a classic arcade game in which you (the player), in the "good" space ship, try to kill all of the sissy butterfly-lookin space ships with your laser gun. I don't think it's just an SC thing, but maybe that's because I've lived in SC all my provincial little life. Hope that helps! :D

Thanks, Charlie! I showed my "unhip-ness" there, didn't I? :-)

And The Dad! Wow - how did I miss your post the other day? I guess it was in moderator's heaven when I posted. That was a good quote - who said it or wrote it originally?

Pro-choice, huh? So he's all for murdering innocent babies... Is that what they put in the hot dogs?

I see that "Comment moderation has been enabled. All comments must be approved by the blog author." So I'm sure that you, being a democrat and therefore all for "free speech" (as long as it agrees with your liberal philosophy), will censor this comment into oblivion. Oh well, can't say I didn't try. Have a nice day and enjoy your baby dogs... er, I meant hot dogs.
