The Web Site That Wouldn't Die

I'm guessing everyone that reads this blog has seen www.bannedfromwalmart.com. Although that was mostly a grad school project which i haven't really followed up on/promoted/maintained/etc. i may get half a dozen or more emails every month of someone telling their story to me. Sadly, most of the writers want a t-shirt because they got caught shoplifting. Obviously what i thought was multivalence, or at least charming obtuseness, didn't quite come though for some folks.

Regardless, today i got FIVE emails. I knew something was up. I news-googled "banned from wal mart" and i found this story.

Thanks for the shout out Fox(crapass)News.

No WAY. That's crazy seeing as it's been YEARS since that project started. How very bizarre for you.

Walt the notorious Banned from Wal-Mart Guy- ha! Props are props (: At least though your website was referred to in connection with a legitimate story of Wal-Mart's unethical, questionable tactics- I have worked for them too and understood all too well your experience as you described on the site.

Being mentioned by Fox news... you're one step closer to being on the Daily Show.

Check out www.peopleofwalmart.com. Proof that many Wal-Mart shoppers are queer-- or at least appear so in these pictures! If Wal-Mart knew it had such a strong queer customer base, I wonder if they would be more considerate...

I refer friends to bannedfromwalmart all the time...but I only think of it when they are talking about how much they hate walmart.
