Well, today i have a really important quesiton i need y'all to weigh in on:
should i go to my 20-year high school reunion?

Why not? Say hi to everyone for me. I'm sure they remember Little Burns.
Go. You'll be surprized at how some of the people there turned out, find your opinion of some others is not that different than it was in high school, and (at the very least) be amused. Plus, if you find yourself bored/annoyed/regressing to teendom, you can always leave early. At the most, you might find it like one of my good friends, who hated high school, but was able to exorcise several demons of insecurity when she went to hers several years ago.

Actually, kenneth, you were one of the reasons i started pondering it in the first place.
on the silly answer sheet they sent me (e.g. what is your maiden name?), they also asked "favorite funny memory of high school?" I instantly thought of the day you wore a ghost costume to school, which is not only a funny high school memory, but a one of the funniest things i've ever seen period. I've even immortalized the event with a story i like to call "The Day Kenneth Burns Wore a Ghost Costume to School."
anyway, i thought of that, and then thought "kenneth wasn't even in my year. i wonder if they want something that's relevant to them?" and THEN i thought, "hell, i didn't even know those people anyway..."
that's the reason for the question.
I found out I don't need to ever go to a highschool reunion, I just go look at my old classmates' myspace pages.

I've not kept in touch well enough to know about my high school reunions, but I was surprised at how glad I was to have gone to my 20-year college reunion. It really took just having one classmate to go with (because it's fun to predict the event beforehand and analyze it after) to set aside the reasons not to go.
Besides, you might be like my husband and be an inspiration for somebody. When I went with Mike to his h.s. reunion a number of years ago, one woman accosted me (in a nice way) in the restroom to wax eloquent about what a miracle it was to see him alive and happy. And I felt that way about a few folks at my college reunion.
Any reason why not?
I went alone to mine, and really enjoyed it. I was one of those who felt they had "exorcised several demons", as Deandra said. It was a lot of fun, and eye-opening. And, again, as Deandra said, you can always leave early if you don't like it.

I would say yes. I've been at a friend's house all day fiddling through old yearbooks and talking smack with him about the people who didn't get away. It made me feel better about myself. That's a terrible reason to go to a reunion (*flagellates self*) but it's a reason, isn't it?
And I've only been out of high school for four years! Think how much fun YOU'LL have!
