The pope was not hurt and didn't even appear to notice that the man had jumped over the protective barricade in the square and toward the white popemobile as it drove by with the pope waving to the audience. At least eight security officers who were trailing the popemobile grabbed the man and wrestled him to the ground. The pope didn't even look back. This was on one of my news feeds this morning...

The Pope Mobile is one of a kind. To give you a little bit of history on the Pope Mobile. It was created back in the 80's after the assination attempt on Pope john Paul II. They created it for the safety of the Pope. Now granted John Paul was a pope that very much wanted to be seen and to be with the people. But even he understood that if his message was to be heard around the world. He needed to be safe. Now, you've got to give credit to a man who faced the man that tried to kill him and forgave. John Paul was a wonderful man, and thankfully was able to live a long happy life. think of how far the Catholic church has come because of what John Paul has done. But I degress.
